Our School Ethos

St. Safan's school has a Catholic ethos and as such the Catholic faith is lived and shared throughout the school. Our faith is passed on to the children through prayer, in the Liturgy of the Mass, in the preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation and in the programmes of Religious Education. Our faith permeates the daily life of the whole school and is cross-curricular.
While our school is Catholic in ethos we respect and value other faiths.

Our Mission Statement

In St. Safan's we endeavour to provide a safe and healthy environment in which pupils feel secure and confident.

Intricsic and core to our educational policy is our Christian outlook and emphasis will be laid on the spiritual development of the children.

In our teaching, we will provide as many opportunities as possible to the children to help them develop socially and emotionally.

Creative expression through music, visual arts and language development, will be fostered throughout the school.

We will promote their physical development through swimming, football, games, drama and free play.

Our school is the focal point in our community and we hope to foster a love of local history and encourage the children to enjoy and appreciate our Irish culture in a European context.

In St. Safan's we encourage the involvement of parents through home/ school links and through the involvement in St. Safan's Parents Association.
