Fr. McGoldrick will say Mass in the school today as we celebrate the feast of St. Brigid. He will also bless the school. One parent from each family is invited to attend.

Sunday, 29 January marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week
2012. The purpose of the week is to highlight and celebrate the
wonderful contribution that Catholic schools make to our local
communities and society in general. This year’s theme is Catholic
Schools: Christ’s Living Body Active in our World.

To Celebrate Tree Day, Ms. Carlin's and Mrs Burke's classes will travel to the CPI centre in Castlefinn. (Weather Permitting). This is a free trip, the bus will be paid for by the board of Management. Please ensure children have jackets with hoods and wellies/old shoes.

We are asking for parents to volunteer to help tidy up around the school. Anyone willing to help please contact one of the teachers.

St. Safan's are holding a parent information evening in the school on Tuesday 13th September at 9pm. It is asked that one parent from each family attend.

The school is celebrating Grandparents Day on Friday 9th September and we would like to invite grandparents of all children (Infants - sixth) into the school for a short service beginning at 11.00qm.

We are selling a school Calendar with photos of pupils from last year at a cost of €10 per calendar. These make beautiful keepsakes and we hope that each family buy at least one.

The School Fair raised €1115.12. This was fantastic and we extend a sincere  thanks to everyone who gave so generously with home baking and all the contributions for the day. Thanks also to the parents who helped on the day.

St. Safan's has been awarded our 4th green flag from An Taisce. Miss Carlin and three pupils travelled to Letterkenny on the 17th of May to collect the new flag. Well done to everyone!
